About the Artist
Jack Lawton

Jack is a self taught artist of many degrees.  He has been
working with metal for over 10 years.  He works out of a
studio in Watsonville, CA with 2 other metal workers.

He started metal work in 1995 receiving private instruction
from an artist in Mill Valley, California.  Quickly developing
a desire to create, he bought his first welder and the rest was
history.

He took an apprenticeship at Santa Cruz Yachts in 1998 and
moved to wood shop manager by the year 2001.  Building
yachts taught him the finesse that was necessary bring his
metal work to the next level.  In 2002, he started to attend a
local college to finish his 4 year degree in art and realized
that he had a deep interest in theater and film.

Jack attended CSU in 2003 and finished a degree in 2005 in
film technology.  He plans to stay in Santa Cruz and
continue his metal sculpture while embarking on the
process of independent film.

The most recent development of Lawton Designs will be the
incorporation of lighting elements in his sculpture and a
new series of water features.  The sky is the limit.  Large or
small scale garden, home, and commercial accent or utility
lighting.

Water features continue to be a point of interest for Jack and
Lawton Designs.  There is a wide array of possibilities that
enhance your landscape.
